dinosaur house


In thirty minutes, superman and I made him a dinosaur house.
Supplies: 1 box
finger paint
cotton balls
twigs
rocks
construction paper
glue
scissors
knife
duct tape

Cut one LONG side of box down both sides and across bottom. Duct tape to other LONG piece underneath.
Paint backdrop blue. Cut and glue on mountains of orange and brown. Cut and glue on grass and waterhole. Puff cotton balls to clouds, dip in glue, and paste. Cut slits with knife in corners for twigs. Insert twigs then duct tape on bottom to help secure.
Duct tape bottom of other trees and plant. Throw rocks in.
AND PLAY!!


ROAR!!

Now that my 2-year-old is entertained with something of his own....I'll be free to SEW!

Stitches in Thailand & Vietnam

I spent the last two weeks vacationing in Thailand and Vietnam.  They are both incredibly beautiful places and I loved seeing a different part of the world.  The landscapes were full of lush greenery, rice patties, and an occasional wild elephant was spotted.  My favorite part was "trekking" with the elephants along a jungle path to a water hole where we were able to bath and scrub two giant elephants.  I also got to feed them and their little baby.  Truly a highlight of my life.   Another highlight for me is getting to see the talents and skills done in needlework and sewing from other cultures. I'm usually the only one taking pictures of these kinds of things.  I love seeing the fabric they use and the cultural influence in their creations.  I learned about a village of women who created these items after learning to sew.  With the skills they now have, they are able to stay at home with their children and with their income they ar...

orange blossoms makeup bag, but of course optional for holding other accessories. I have a stack of these little bags to get through and can't wait to show them to you. Most of them have a touch of RED , which feels holiday-ish. Ho! Ho! Ho!
