little boy toy tote

I've been dreaming of these for month s [emphasize the "s" in month]. My two boys are constantly trying to pack around a bazillion toys at one time and I find them scattered throughout my house as they fall from their full hands. Little boy toy totes: -one large pocket in back, -two pockets on front (one small, one big), -jean pocket attached on front, -side hook on left side for hanging swords or the like, -interfaced with super duty duckcloth for durability, (I knew that they would be stuffed with cars, power rangers, trains, books, dinosaurs, tools, more cars, so it HAD to be strong) - tie closures around waist, - fits my 5 & 3-yr-old perfectly. The pattern will be up for sale in my etsy shop sometime next week. V&Co. started a 'link post' for anyone to show what they have been up to. See here . Little boy toy totes are #13. LOTS of fun projects from so many people. Thanks V&Co for letting us 'toot our own horns' every once in awhil...

her playhouse

I saw this playhouse first at homemade by jill (see her flickr group here ), then found a few others here , and knew it would be the perfect gift for my baby girl's first birthday. She loves crawling in and out of the door and doghouse then peeking out of each window. The flowers aren't in view, but she carries them around along with her growing veggies and apples from the tree. I had so much fun making it. It was like drawing with fabric....and I love to color, although I think I'm better at sewing it then actually drawing it. If you decide to make one...I'd love to see your playhouse. Mine fits over our dining room table (which barely seats 4) but most are made to cover a card table. I just measured the table, cut out each side, sewed on each side, then put it all together. The windows were a little tricky just because that plastic is kind of hard to sew with, but I just put paper underneath it so it would slide on the sewing machine, then riped it out when it...

special day chair

Found this 'special day' chair cover on nannygoat and knew I had to have one for our special days. It was a fun project for an evening without my hubby.

dinosaur house

In thirty minutes, superman and I made him a dinosaur house. Supplies: 1 box finger paint cotton balls twigs rocks construction paper glue scissors knife duct tape Cut one LONG side of box down both sides and across bottom. Duct tape to other LONG piece underneath. Paint backdrop blue. Cut and glue on mountains of orange and brown. Cut and glue on grass and waterhole. Puff cotton balls to clouds, dip in glue, and paste. Cut slits with knife in corners for twigs. Insert twigs then duct tape on bottom to help secure. Duct tape bottom of other trees and plant. Throw rocks in. AND PLAY!! ROAR!! Now that my 2-year-old is entertained with something of his own....I'll be free to SEW!
